Dusk on the island
We're pleasantly situated under two large oaks on the west side of city hall. The trolley has been clanging past us every so often, the church bells sound on the hour, it's warm but not hot, and there hasn't been any rain since I got here at 11 this morning.
David pointed out earlier that African-American people have been suffering for centuries what we Caucasian progressives have only recently been aghast at: disenfranchisement of our votes, fighting and dying for the rich men's wars, serving as the mules for the corporations, and so on.
A nice crowd of a dozen appears ready to take us into the night.
